My Love for Linen – and why less is sometimes more

There is something about linen which is wonderful. The way it looks and feels is like nature itself. For me, beach and linen go hand in hand with each other. If I was lucky enough to live in a house by the sea, I would dress in these clothes every day in the summer. It’s the fresh, light crispness of it which somehow gives one a sense of freedom and wellbeing.

Sunrise and Sunsets

Every now and then we see a spectacular sunset or cloud formation, and I must admit that in former times I used to miss photographing them as I was never any good at being ready with a camera. These days, I do try to capture the beautiful things around me as it gives me so much pleasure to look at them afterwards.

Kitchen Design

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home. Well, I heart (love) these three kitchens very much. Completely different in their style, layout and colour scheme, you could wonder why I didn’t choose three which are similar. Holiday Lodge in Cornwall

This holiday lodge in Whitsand Bay on the East Coast of Cornwall is one of my favourite dream holiday locations. I’ve never been but it’s definitely on my bucket list. The lodge has a beautiful coastal design interior with a colour scheme of lovely sand, blue and white. It only has one bedroom so it’s only big enough for two people but the luxury is evident everywhere. The decked area has space for eating, there is a hot tub and outside shower and all overlooking a view which is to die for. There are lots of beautiful holiday cottages in Cornwall but I am a big fan of wooden lodges, and so for me, this would be perfect.

Things I love…

It’s no secret, I love the coast and everything connected to it. Everyone who knows me well, knows this fact. Parts of my house are filled with coastal design accessories. When it comes to the home, I love the natural textures of solid wood furniture, especially driftwood, limed oak and natural flooring, teamed together with light, refreshing seaside colours. I am also a massive fan of New England style houses and interiors. I hold two City and Guilds qualifications in Interior Design and Craft and have been interested in architecture and interior design since I was a teenager.
